The state of Zen is found anywhere, and is available to anyone.
For me, the path to complete presence is most often through my camera. Before I ever knew about Zen Photography, this way of seeing has been my private sanctuary for years. Disappearing for hours at a time inside a moment, exploring the world through my lens in quiet solitude. It is my favourite play time.
This series was originally compiled during the pandemic. A few friends had asked me to send them soothing images to counteract the anxiety of that time, and I searched my archives for some of my private photo meditations. The purpose of the series is still the same – to invite you to share a few slower heartbeats with me, and observe in quiet presence, without thought, the world around us.
With gratitude to Daniel Maldonado, who was an unwitting catalyst for this private endeavour to become a shared Zen Photography series.
