That life belongs to Boryana Alexandrova – a photographer, cinematographer, and visual artist based in New York City.
Bulgarian heart / New York soul, her work is often about the in-between. Her eye seeks out the individuality of all things – their singular uniqueness beneath the veil of labels and definitions, which is also what connects them together. An avid wanderer, she spends most of her time observing from that most valuable vantage point – in-between, slightly outside, and always moving.
In her collaborations, Boryana’s approach is entirely project-centric. As a cinematographer, she aims to use her experience and multi-style visual vocabulary to bring out each film’s unique artistic sensibility. With this background as well as her commercial and fine art photography experience, she welcomes exploring a variety of different media and styles as a way of conveying an idea or telling a story. In her solo work, she looks for the intuitive path to discovering the right process by which to give life to an idea, and is constantly learning new things.
In the future, the aim of Made in November is to exhibit independent artists of all kinds, and to support nonconformism and autonomy in art.
