To pick up a lens and put it to the world is a staggering responsibility.
You are choosing to add to the collective idea of the universe. Do you do it without thinking? Or do you think about it until it necessarily changes? Do you do it to help or to hinder? Or do you just add to the noise of endless imitation. Do you seek to confirm the world’s prejudices, or to refute them? Is your seeing a fight or a reconciliation? Or is it all and only vanity, that siren that seduces us all when we least expect it.
In the end, “the seeing” can be a gift or a piece of trash. Each moment behind the lens is this soul-searching and more. It isn’t a conscious process, of course, but rather the inherent gravity of every click. The camera is both a peep hole and a mirror, and life behind it is endlessly revealing in all directions.
This log is a glimpse into that process, as well as an invitation to join me on the trip.
It will inevitably be about photography, inspiration, light, people, the road, and the homebase of my life & soul – New York. There will be interviews and shared moments, encounters, and connections. Sometimes it may be a string of images with very few words, other times – the opposite. It will certainly be personal and free-form as it grows into what it is to be. But beyond that, it will be about life through the lens and the act of seeing. How perception reaches the photosensitive surfaces of the inner self and develops into feelings, thoughts, and a reflection back.
Whether you are a photographer, a wanderer at heart, or simply someone who likes to look – join me on the ride.
Coming soon in 2025.
